‘The devil makes work for idle hands’ as we sit alone, imagining and drawing, the sources become blurred, we start to transform. People become objects and objects become imbued with human characteristics. Romantic dreams are lived out through our creations, fetishes born and explored. Nine artists explore fascination, adoration and the human as object, artists as voyeurs, documenters and preservationists.
Originating in everyday interaction with film, pop culture and personal biography, editing and molding, shaping dreams, the artists hands strive for an imagined ideal. The works exhibited in Idle Worship include illustrations, collages and sculptures that extend the drawn line as a link between physical reality and personal interaction.
